NYE I have, for the last 8 odd years spent it with my parents. Bit of a drink, steak meal, bit of TV and then sleep. To me that is just about what I do now, I really couldn't be arsed with going out on NYE any more or even a house party if anyone was doing one.
Last NYE I think I was asleep around 11pm

I tend to recycle many of gifts that have been bestowed upon me where I can, most are cheap tat, but it's my way of doing my bit to save the planet and it's the thought that counts.

Christmas eve, the buildup and parties, midnight mass, christmas day with the kids (15 and 11 now so the magic may be fading for them but as a foster carer we have little ones who haven't had a christmas (as such) before so we try and make it magical)
Boxing day do the dip into the sea and then off for more family time and booze.
the rest of the week enjoy the time off
New Years hasn't bothered me since my early 20's

Literally could not give a shit about Christmas, though I do appreciate all of the extra piss up's and what's not to like about a free piss up at the annual party?
Always felt you need kids to appreciate it and get pulled into the spirit, but as I haven't got any, it's no different to any other time of the year.
Never had a single day off over xmas and worked every Boxing Day at my last firm as I had nothing better to do.
Highlight is my missus goes to her mum's every Christmas and I refuse to go and so have a nice couple of days to myself being bored.
New Years is bollocks though, never really understood what there is to celebrate. No different to midnight tonight.

Got three great Christmas do's sorted this year (first one football boys next Friday... 20+ of us in Old Leigh) ... can't wait... I agree the build up to Christmas is a lot better than the actual day itself... even though like Nursey I just ADORE it...

Sounds like the original poster and a few others just need a new job, new friends, a new regular boozer, or all three.
I like Christmas because for a few days I don't have to work every hour of the day, and that feels good. I reckon most employed people feel like this, or conversely at least enjoy the reward of picking up extra shifts.
In fact the only annoying thing about Christmas, is peop,e who insist on banging on and on and on about how much they hate Christmas, when surely it would be less painful for them to shut the fuck up and avoid talkign about it whenever possible?

Don’t do much family Christmas as my parents are now DEAD and my brother and his family are in Australia
I actually like a week and a bit off with no pressure to actually do much.
If you don’t like the work stuff stick your head in and then piss off or don’t go at all.
The other positive is that I end up catching up with people I don’t see much during the year as you run out of excuses to ‘we should have a drink some time soon’.
Life could be much worse than having to ‘endure’ lots of food , drink & time off plus football & cricket on virtually every day.
